At SWEET PEAS FAMILY DAYCARE, we understand that children may occasionally need to miss daycare due to illness, family emergencies, or vacations. To ensure smooth operations and fairness to all families, we have established the following leave policy:

 

1. Notifying the Daycare of Absence

Parents/guardians must inform the daycare as soon as possible if a child will be absent. Notification should be made by phone, email, or through our parent portal no later than 8:00 AM on the day of absence.

2. Sick Leave

If your child is unwell (e.g., fever, vomiting, diarrhea, contagious illness), please keep them at home. A child must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours (without medication) before returning to daycare. For certain illnesses, a doctor’s note may be required to return.

3. Vacation Leave

Parents are encouraged to inform the daycare at least 1 week in advance if they plan to take their child on vacation. Advance notice helps us manage staffing and classroom planning.

4. Emergency Leave

In the event of a family emergency, please notify us as soon as you can. We understand that emergencies are unpredictable and will accommodate the situation with flexibility.

5. Absence and Tuition

Tuition is not prorated or refunded for absences, including sick days, holidays, or personal vacations. Regular payment secures your child’s spot and helps us maintain consistent staffing and services.

6. Extended Leave

If you plan to withdraw your child for an extended period (2 weeks or more), please discuss this with the Director in advance. A holding fee may apply to reserve your child’s spot during the absence.

7. Daycare-Initiated Leave

In rare cases, we may ask parents to keep a child home temporarily due to health or behavioral concerns, for the safety of other children and staff.

We welcome families interested in enrolling at SWEET PEAS FAMILY DAYCARE to submit a waitlist application. If our classrooms are currently full, your child will be placed on the waitlist in the order the application is received.

1. Waitlist Application

Parents must complete a waitlist application form and pay a non-refundable waitlist fee of $150 to secure a spot on the list. The waitlist fee covers administrative processing and does not guarantee enrollment.

2. Waitlist Order

Children are placed on the waitlist based on the date the application is received. Priority may be given to siblings of enrolled children, referrals from current families, or children of staff.

3. Notification of Availability

When a space becomes available, we will contact families via phone or email. Parents must respond within 3 business days to accept the offered spot. If we do not receive a response within this time frame, the spot will be offered to the next family on the list.

4. Waitlist Fee Refund Policy

If we are unable to offer a spot by your requested start date, the waitlist fee will be refunded. However, if a spot is offered and your child does not enroll by the agreed start date, the waitlist fee will not be refunded.

5. Wait Time

The wait time varies depending on your child’s age group, enrollment demand, and the time of year.

We recommend checking in periodically to update your contact information and desired start date.
